It's So Hard is ultimately a song about the times we may struggle in our lives. As I worked with TCMOAS Studio to develop the video for the song, we decided to take it in the direction of exploring the issue through the lens of depression and mental health. We decided to release it in the month of October, which, in the United States, is National Depression Education & Awareness Month. This helps raise awareness about the signs, symptoms, and treatment options for depression. It also lets all of us know that seeking help — either from a counselor, a trusted friend, or your community — is a sign of hope and strength.
